Our Mission

To address childhood hunger by providing nutritious weekend meals to school-aged children in our community, ensuring they return to school nourished, supported, and ready to learn.

Many families face economic hardship within our county that leaves children vulnerable to weekend hunger. While school meals provide weekday relief, the weekends can be long and uncertain. Teachers and counselors have shared stories of children arriving on Monday tired, distracted, and hungry. We believe no child should have to endure that. Sack Pack stands in the gap with dignity, discretion, and deep care.

At BUMC, we believe love is most powerfully expressed in the quiet acts of care. Our Sack Pack Ministry is a simple offering, born of compassion and sustained by grace. Our volunteers pack shelf-stable food into bags to ensure the nourishment of body and spirit continues beyond the school week.

Our Impact

• Serving over 65 children & youth ages 6-14 weekly across 2 local Polk County schools

• Providing 9 nutritious, easy-to-prepare items and snacks per child

• Supported by a joyful team of 12+ volunteers

• Strengthening community bonds through shared service
